30 Years For Revenge
Reincarnation is real.
I know because I was born with some memories from my past life; a life which was ended by a close friend. I can still see the murderous glint in his eyes as he drove the blade into my chest over and over again.
My parents took me to a psychiatrist when I was young and I would discuss the things that I remembered; they thought I was crazy. As I got older, I thought it best to keep quiet about it.
It’s taken me 30 years to track down my killer; a man by the name Ronald Goater. I knock on his door and when he opens it, I flash him my police badge and state that I need to ask him a few questions. He invites me in and we take a seat in the living room.
“Did you used to know a man named Joseph Collins?” I ask and I immediately notice his eyes widen.
“Yes,” he answers in a shaky voice.
“I know you killed him, Mr Goater.” I cross the room to him and remove my gun from the holster. “I know because I was him. I was reincarnated; given a chance to exact my revenge.”
His wide-eyes stare into mine.
“Those eyes; it is you!” He stands, suddenly more confident. “You bastard! You killed my wife!”
I look at him, dumbstruck. He throws a punch too quick for me to react and I stumble back, falling to the floor. My gun flies from my grasp and lands before him. He picks up the weapon and stands over me, smiling.
“I’m going to enjoy killing you again.”
