"Will the Tooth Fairy really come tonight?"
Aiden asked, exhausted.
"Yes honey!"
His Mother answered, gently closing his door.
Lights off, and his recently lost baby teeth stuffed under his pillow, Aiden drifted into sleep.
He awoke suddenly to the sound of buzzing and scratching.
Aiden opened his eyes, making out a pair of large cicada-like wings in the dark.
A muscled, veiny hand crept towards his face, his fallen out teeth in its gray palm.
"You like my teeth?" Aiden asked, with a growing grin.
It smiled back.
"Wrong. Teeth." It rasped, pointing a jagged nail at his smile.
