Adultery
Leviticus 20:10 “If a man commits adultery with the wife of his neighbor, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.”
Finding my wife had cheated on me was the worst thing to ever happen. The resulting divorce was horrible. Massive debts. Losing the house. Split custody of our 6 year old daughter. It made me cry when I thought of little Karen. She wasn’t even old enough to really understand what had happened yet.
Killing him had been easy. Foreigner here on business. No family or friends nearby. Quick grab, slice, and dump.
My ex wife was going to be a little harder. No scenario I could come up with didn’t have me as the prime suspect immediately.
I truly felt God was on my side when the random sniper shootings started to occur in our city. Perfect cover for a murder, as his victims seemed random.
My ex was a person of routine. Every Saturday morning, same coffee shop, same time. It was easy to climb up on a roof hours earlier, and get my rifle ready.
I waited patiently for hours, and then I saw her. Same routine. She entered the coffee shop.
I took a deep breath, tears forming. HE was one thing. HER…..despite it all….I still loved. I didn’t want her DEAD. Not really. I just wished she could understand the pain I felt. The loss.
As she walked out of the coffee shop, I smiled. I felt better. Not killing her was the right thing; I felt it in my heart.
I shifted the cross-hair down to Karen and pulled the trigger.
